Hello I hope you are well!
Things for many of us seem a little brighter now as the summer term begins, and with the days finally warming up, it is perhaps time to look forward to the months ahead.
Firstly I would like to thank the entire team at Belmont once again for allowing me to put on some cooking workshops over the coming months. While the June workshop has sold out, I am pleased to announce that I will be holding two workshops at the height of summer, cooking outside and using the very vegetables grown in the estate's kitchen garden, not only do these experiences include an outdoor cooking session, but also a tour of the vegetable garden with the head gardener.
These courses will run on the 3rd and 10th August at Belmont and can be booked via their website:
The other part of Wild Classroom is school workshops, I feel fortunate enough that I have been able to provide safe, Covid-secure outdoor learning sessions for our young learners in schools. I am continually reviewing my risk assessments to ensure that all risks and dangers are minimised, more on this and my current risk assessment can be found on the following page:
While typically my work in schools centres on curriculum-based learning, due to the past year's events it does mean that current year 6 pupils are unlikely to be able to attend their traditional end of year residential break. I have already been asked by a number of schools if I am available to help with internal "residentials" and this is something I would be willing to help out with, activities could include sourdough pizza, Dutch Oven baking, burger and sausage making (veggie and meat!) If you read this and work in a school, or have children that attend a school in the South East, then please don't hesitate to contact me at email@example.com
Finally, I am talking to a number of event organisers about some amazing outdoor festivals that hopefully will be allowed to happen this year, as soon as I have confirmation I will add these to my events page.
